AI model selection in CoAudit chat, plus file handling and chat reliability fixes

Punchcard restores the CoAudit AI model picker, fixes automatic file routing in Financial Statement Review, and surfaces clear explanations when a conversation grows too long.

CoAudit Chat

  • Choose your AI model and effort level: A compact dropdown in the CoAudit chat footer lets you select which AI model to use and how deeply it should reason — from fast responses to more thorough analysis. The platform's recommended setting for most audit tasks is pre-selected. Your choice is saved per conversation and restored when you reopen it; switching between chats restores each conversation's individual setting. Models that are temporarily unavailable are shown as disabled rather than hidden.
  • Conversations that grow too long now explain what happened: When a conversation reaches a length the AI can no longer continue from, CoAudit surfaces a clear inline message — "This conversation has grown too long for the model to continue. Start a new chat to keep going — the messages here are saved." Your full conversation history remains accessible from chat history.
  • Conversations that stop responding now tell you why: If CoAudit completes several turns without producing a response (typically because the conversation has grown very long), it now surfaces a "This conversation has stopped responding" message with guidance to start a new chat. Nothing is lost — all prior messages are saved.

Workpaper & File Handling

  • Files in Financial Statement Review stay where you put them: A bug was causing files uploaded to a specific document group in Financial Statement Review to be automatically re-routed to a different group. Files now land and stay in the document group you chose — FSR never applies automatic sorting.
  • Automatic file sorting is now targeted: Drag-and-drop auto-sorting only activates when you aim at a designated upload target — a row's Unsorted cell or the corner task-level cell. Dropping files elsewhere on the workpaper page no longer triggers auto-routing.
  • Dropping a file on an empty area of the page no longer navigates away: Previously, dropping a file outside a recognized upload target could cause the browser to leave the workpaper and open the file directly. This no longer happens.
