Client file-deletion controls and request auto-reopen
Punchcard now lets auditors set per-engagement rules for which files clients may delete — with a 'Before submission' default for new engagements — and automatically reopens submitted requests when clients add new activity.

Per-engagement client file-deletion policy
Auditors and admins can now set a client file-deletion rule for each engagement in Engagement Settings. Four modes are available:
- Always allow — clients can delete any file
- Before submission (new default for all new engagements) — clients can delete a file until the request it belongs to is submitted for review; once submitted, the file is locked for clients permanently
- Their own — clients can only delete files they uploaded themselves
- Never allow — only auditors can delete files
When a file is locked and a client tries to delete it, they see a "Request deletion" option that drafts a ready-made comment to the auditor asking them to remove the file. If a selection mixes locked and deletable files, a dialog explains exactly which files need auditor help and lets the client delete the rest right away.
Submitted requests automatically reopen when clients add activity
When a client comments on or uploads a file to a request that is already submitted for review or marked Done, the request automatically moves back to Returned — so auditors immediately see the new activity. Clients are prompted to confirm before their activity moves the request back to open, keeping the transition intentional.
Improvements
Excel add-in: contextual guidance and cleaner navigation
The CoAudit Excel add-in now shows contextual guidance in the Agent, Context, and Viewer panels when they are empty, explaining what to do next (for example, prompting the reviewer to open a document before drawing citations). Workspace navigation controls are also visually separated from panel-specific actions, making it easier to find the right control at a glance.
Reliability
- Workpaper automations are more resilient when the service starts up or restarts; a class of errors that could interrupt background work during a service restart has been resolved.
