Redesigned Task Creation and PDF Viewer Fixes
Punchcard's new request/task modal gets a cleaner Linear-style design, templates are easier to filter, and PDF viewing and CoAudit in Excel get key reliability fixes.
Features & Improvements
- Redesigned task and request creation: The "New Task" / "New Request" modal has been restyled for a cleaner, faster creation flow. Client and engagement names now appear immediately when opened from a board (no blank placeholder while loading), the form can be expanded for longer descriptions, and you can submit with ⌘+Enter (Mac) or Ctrl+Enter (Windows) from anywhere in the form.
- Easier template browsing: The "Use a template" picker (on the web and in the Excel add-in) now has All / Punchcard / Firm / Personal filter tabs, each showing how many templates match your search — making it faster to find the right one.
- CoAudit in Excel handles large data imports more reliably: CoAudit can now write large sets of calculated results (hundreds of rows) into a workbook in one pass instead of retyping them value-by-value, significantly improving accuracy on big imports. It can also read text from scanned documents more thoroughly and view PDF pages — including filled-in form fields — when researching your files.
- Longer CoAudit tasks in Excel no longer get cut off: Bulk data imports, multi-step reviews, and other long-running CoAudit jobs in the Excel add-in now run to completion instead of stopping partway through after about 15 minutes.
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue where filled-in form fields and annotations in PDF documents (typed values, checkboxes, highlights, stamps) appeared blank in the document viewer, even though that information was already available elsewhere. These now render correctly.
- Task chat history now shows chats that teammates started on the same task, not just your own conversations — restoring visibility that was previously lost.
- Fixed a rare issue where a task's privacy toggle could silently revert to its previous state shortly after being changed.
