Financial Statement Review in CoAudit, longer-running chats, and Excel and Word add-in fixes

Punchcard adds a beta Financial Statement Review you can run from CoAudit, lets CoAudit keep working when you leave a chat, and improves Word and Excel add-in reliability for audit AI workflows.

Features

  • Financial Statement Review (beta): Create a review from the Create menu, or type /fsr in CoAudit. CoAudit opens the statement full screen beside the chat and reads it in order. It runs the checks that apply: footing and cross-footing, internal consistency, comparison with last year's statements, and recalculation.
  • Findings you can work through: Findings are grouped by cause, with explained items kept apart. You can comment on the statement, use drawing and area tools, and open the documents a check relies on, with the cited passage highlighted.
  • Reviewed copy download: Download a marked-up PDF of the statement with the checks and your annotations. The original statement file is never changed.
  • Review status on the task: The review task shows where the review stands, which pages are covered, and which documents were cited. It asks before starting a second run while one is in progress.
  • CoAudit keeps working when you leave: Reloading, closing the tab, or switching to another page no longer cuts off a reply in progress. CoAudit finishes its work, and the chat shows it running when you return.
  • Word add-in Insights: Cards now have clickable citations, a search box, and label filters. Pick labels to narrow the list. Labels that don't fit on the row are available under "+N".
  • Engagement-wide reading in the Word and Excel add-ins: CoAudit can search and read any file in the engagement without importing a folder first.
  • Status report schedule per engagement: Each engagement can have its own status report day and time. Without one, it follows the firm's schedule.

Improvements

  • Pasted subrequest columns: CoAudit asks you to map pasted columns to the subrequest's existing columns.
  • Sub-request documents in testing workflows: CoAudit can now use sub-request numbers such as "BEC-22.1" when bringing their evidence into the parent request's testing workflow.
  • Edits to a sub-request's scope are now allowed when its evidence comes only from auditors.

Fixes

  • Excel formulas in Text cells: Formulas written into cells formatted as Text now calculate instead of showing as plain text.
  • Excel evidence and validation: Clearing a validated cell's evidence now also removes its green "Validated" highlight. Overlapping edits to one cell in a single update resolve to the last one, and clearing a citation keeps the reasoning.
  • Citations in merged table cells: Merged cells no longer pull in text from later rows, so citations land on the right spot.
  • Replies no longer cut short: A display problem in the CoAudit pane no longer ends a reply early, and when a reply does end early, the reason is now shown.
  • Faster document counts: Replacing documents from a folder, removing documents from a request, and CoAudit's folder snapshots no longer time out on large engagements.
  • Match runs on empty groups: Running "fill empty cells" after documents arrive now matches them instead of skipping.
  • Embeddings: Blank entries no longer stop other numbers in the same batch from being processed.
  • Chat switching: A stale question no longer carries over when you switch chats, and a waiting /fsr launch is no longer sent into a later chat.
  • Workpaper helpers: The tools CoAudit uses to copy and unpack files in its analysis sandbox now work.
  • Word add-in: The viewer's close button now sits at the far right.
