Financial Statement Review: Fewer False Exceptions, a Dedicated Review Page, and Citation Fixes

Punchcard's Financial Statement Review now flags fewer false exceptions, opens on its own review page beside CoAudit, and fixes citation and Excel workpaper issues for audit AI users.

Financial Statement Review

  • Fewer false exceptions. A prior-year figure that was restated for a disclosed reason is now labelled Explained (for you to confirm) instead of Fail when the disclosed amount accounts for the difference.
  • More agreements recognized. Amounts shown in thousands or millions now tie correctly to exact amounts, and ratios over a sum are recognized.
  • Fewer false ties. Equal amounts are no longer reported as differing when a loss is printed as a positive number under its label.
  • Presentation findings are back. Wording errors, placeholder dates and incorrect references are recorded as Presentation findings.
  • More reliable reading of German and South African statements. Amounts such as "1.234.567" and "1 234 567" are read correctly, and year-less columns like "Vorjahr" are no longer treated as a confirmed year match.
  • A dedicated review page. Each Financial Statement Review now opens on its own Review page beside CoAudit, with a Back button to the engagement's list. The header and finding tabs adapt to narrow screens, and Change statements moved into the header's ⋯ menu.
  • No more dialog flashing. The statement chooser no longer replays its opening animation each time you choose or save.

Requests and Clients

  • Automatic request submission is back on the Clients page. You can set it per engagement under a new Client submissions section.
  • Submission on by default. New firms and engagements now submit a request automatically when a client uploads a document. Existing settings are unchanged.
  • Area comments on Request documents now show the cited file instead of "File unavailable".

Excel and Citations

  • Separate citations stay separate. When the same quote is cited from different rows of a general ledger or reconciliation, each citation is kept. Any citation that is dropped is now reported rather than lost silently.
  • More accurate invoice citations. A quote from a side-by-side table cell no longer picks up text from the neighbouring cell.
  • Clearer message for very large files. A file over the size limit now shows its size and the limit (200 MiB), instead of a generic "unexpected error".

Reliability

  • Long sessions stay connected. Pages left open, such as during a long Financial Statement Review, no longer show "session token expired" while you are still signed in.
