Agent Tasks: Automated CoAudit Runs, Internal Request Comments, and Safer Approvals
Punchcard adds an Agent tab where CoAudit works through your Requests on its own, plus audit-team-only internal comments with document citations.
New features
- Agent tab on every engagement. Set up tasks that CoAudit carries out for you, such as reviewing submissions, chasing outstanding Requests, producing a weekly summary, or checking in once fieldwork is ready. Start from scratch or pick a template.
- Run tasks on demand or let them start on their own. Start a task with Run now, or have it begin automatically when a Request is submitted, returned, accepted, receives documents, or gets a client comment. You can also schedule it, set a specific time in your firm's time zone, or start it once chosen Requests are all accepted.
- Clear stopping rules. End a task on a date, after a set number of runs, once every watched Request is accepted, or when CoAudit reports the work is done. Tasks can be paused and resumed, and the tab shows when each will next start or why it stopped.
- Every run is a CoAudit conversation. Open any run to read exactly what CoAudit did. Anyone on the audit team who can see the engagement can read it and continue the conversation. Clients cannot.
- Approve or deny changes before they happen. When a run wants to make a change that needs sign-off, it waits for you. A count on the Agent tab shows how many runs are waiting, and the run resumes once you decide. Tasks can also be saved to skip approvals, with a clear warning.
- Limit what a task can do. Choose which tools a task may use. Reading and internal notes are on by default, and changes are off. Commenting can be allowed separately for internal or client audiences.
- Write instructions in CoAudit's composer. Attach files, use skills and references, and choose the model and approval mode for each task.
- Internal comments on Requests. A new Internal tab on each Request holds comments visible only to the audit team. Clients can't see or post them, and tagging only reaches team members.
- CoAudit can comment on a Request. Ask it from anywhere to leave an internal comment (no approval needed) or a client comment (it asks first).
- Cited evidence in comments. CoAudit's comments link the supporting words to the exact spot in the source document. Click to open the document at that area, or hover to see the quote.
Improvements
- Clearer approval cards. For destructive actions, such as deleting tasks, the card now shows a neutral Cancel on the left and a red approve button on the right.
- Safe by design. Agent runs are limited to their own engagement and to what the task's owner is permitted to see and do. Runs can't create or change clients or engagements, and they can't start further runs on their own.
The Agent tab is rolling out gradually and may not yet be visible on your account.
